Roland technologies for the sport and leisure market
There's clothing for every sport – from football to running and martial arts to surfing – plus activewear, athleisure fashion and yoga wear. Comfortable, sporty clothing for men, women and children is everywhere. Streetwear adopts much of the same apparel as activewear: T-shirts, caps, hats, sneakers, jackets, hoodies, leggings and sweatshirts are all big in fashion, meaning money-making potential for you.
Beyond clothing there's a world of sports equipment, safety gear, memorabilia and gifts to offer your customers.
Roland technology can help you get started or expand in the sport and leisure market, helping you to inject the right dose of customisation to make every product unique.
Opportunities for sportswear businesses
Compared to some other printing methods, such as screen printing, digital solutions are faster so you can jump on the latest trends, can help you hit branded colours more easily and make it easy to offer personalisation. There will always be a high turnover of custom gear in professional sports – think sports teams and clubs, gyms and fitness studios, schools and universities, races and events – but consumers too want unique products that show their personality or dedication to a team. People are willing to pay more for products that are tailored to them.
Digital printing for sports: fast, simple, on-demand
Roland’s digital printing technology comes in all shapes and sizes. Some devices are genuinely desktop-sized and are as easy to use as an office printer, giving you the power to start a sportswear venture from your kitchen table or add new services to your existing line-up.
Roland solutions have low set-up costs, come with everything you need to get started and can be up and running almost straightaway. Everything is on-demand too, so you can print your order as soon as it comes in. You could be selling your first T-shirt design or custom swim shorts by the end of the day.
Hit branded colours accurately
In the sports world, colours have to be accurate. Team colours, graphics, logos and branding must be exact, without fading, smudging or bleeding.
Roland digital printers have an extraordinary colour gamut, made even more amazing with our software pre-installed with colour libraries. You can add your own designs and imported colours, so you're always up to date with team strips or sponsors' logos.
Personalisation for everyone
Direct-to-garment
Roland's fantastic direct-to-garment printing systems add designs, logos and text to sportswear in one step. The Texart XT-640S-DTG is a super-fast multi-station printer that is compatible with cotton, cotton-rich and white polyester T-shirts and other sportwear. Its unique jig design lets you print a range of products in the same job – from children's sportswear to XXXL sweatshirts – in bright, washable CMYK and white.
Eco-solvent print and cut
Combination eco-solvent print/cutters from Roland are versatile machines for businesses with big ideas. These space-saving, time-saving systems are used across the world for signage and graphics applications because they can print then cut material in one machine. They're also great for producing stickers, skateboard slaps and heat transfers for sportswear – just print onto thin polyurethane film, cut to shape and apply to bags, T-shirts, hats and more.
Roland's TrueVIS VG2 and SG2 printer/cutters are award-winners for their colour matching, cutting accuracy, efficiency and ease of use. For businesses breaking into sportswear decoration, check out the Roland VersaSTUDIO BN-20 desktop inkjet printer/cutter.
UV printing
We love UV printing and think you will too. UV-curable inks are set, or cured, using low-temperature lamps and sit on the surface of the material being printed. This means you can customise practically anything – spherical shapes like golf balls, leather shoes, fabrics like hi-vis cycling gear, oddly shaped products like tennis rackets, even surfboards!
With the right add-ons you can even print directly to cylindrical items – baseball bats, relay batons, bicycle pumps – and to smooth surfaces like glass trophies and metal medals. Roland VersaUV printers print CMYK and white, plus gloss which can be printed in layers to create textures and special effects. They're great all-rounders for busy sports specialists.
Engravers
Roland's EGX compact engraving machines are able to personalise everything from awards, gifts and jewellery to signage and rhinestone-decorated apparel. Easy to use and cost effective, these desktop engravers deliver precision results and will provide another alternative service to engage your customers.
Software
We've developed software that maximises the potential of your Roland machine and helps you engage with your customers to create perfect sportswear and equipment.
PersBiz
Roland PersBiz is a cloud-based solution that enables your customers to customise and order a product online, while also simplifying business processes like payment and delivery options, product range management and order handling. Both cotodesign and PersBiz are designed for use with different types of Roland solutions.
