High Performance, Low Investment - Roland DG Introduces New Eco-Solvent Inkjet Printer
January 24, 2024 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and printer/cutters worldwide, today announced the addition of the ER-641 64” eco-solvent inkjet printer to the DGXPRESS series, which offers aggressive pricing with vivid print quality output and high productivity.
The eco-solvent inkjet printer provides a larger printhead, which can eject finer ink droplets at higher density, with newly developed, high-speed data control technology. This enables the ER-641 to achieve robust productivity of 25.5 m2/h in 900 x 600 dpi mode for PVC printing and 43.5 m2/h in 600 x 1200 dpi mode for banner printing.
Due to consistent efforts and focus on high image quality, the ER-641 can produce beautiful graphics that combine vivid colours, neutral greys, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones, even with four-colour output. In addition, the True Rich Color 3 print setting optimises the potential of both superior colour reproduction of the ER-641 and the wide colour gamut of ink to achieve a unique combination of vividness and natural appearance in a single graphic.
“By adopting our latest technology platform with rigorously standardized parts and narrowing down the necessary functions, we have created a product with the perfect balance between productivity and cost performance,” stated Tony Miller, President of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division.
Roland DG has also focused several features to improve work efficiency, including a media setting that automatically collects media when it is inserted for easy, more accurate loading, a take-up unit that minimises skew to ensure accurate media winding, and a perforated sheet cutter that separates media along perforations between print jobs. In addition, customers can now easily replace caps, wipers, wiper cleaners, and other items around the printhead that previously required replacement by service personnel, to minimise downtime.
The ER-641 comes standard with VersaWorks 6 professional RIP software with a wide range of easy-to-use features to support output operations. In addition, access to Roland DG Connect alongside this, a cloud-based service that provides better support in the event of errors, operational visibility, easy profit calculations and more, means customers benefit from a host of technology solutions that focus on delivering high-quality, highly efficient, and profitable print work.
“In 2023, we launched the DGXPRESS brand in limited markets* with a growing demand for signage, with two UV ink models and one eco-solvent model. By adding the even more affordable ER-641 to its lineup, we are now able to offer more customers the superior image quality and reliability that are our major strengths,” Miller affirmed.*Asia (Excluding Japan), Middle East Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, CIS (Excluding Russia and Belarus), Latin America
