Roland DG Provides Colourful Makeover to Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi of Policlinico di Milano

The TrueVIS AP-640 resin-latex printer is safe for use in sensitive environments such as hospitals.

Milan, July 25 2024 – Roland DG, the world's leading provider of digital printing solutions, today announces its donation to Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi of Policlinico di Milano. Partnering with Hammer Design Brand Experience and Hexis Italia, Roland DG has brought a new colourful touch to the hospital’s common areas, staircases and elevators using the TrueVIS AP-640 resin-latex printer.

Situated in the heart of Italy's economic capital, Policlinico di Milano, also known as Ospedale Maggiore di Milano or Ospedale Ca' Granda di Milano, is Italy's premier public institute for medical research. It is also one of Italy's oldest hospitals, pioneering numerous medical innovations throughout its history.

As part of the collaboration with Policlinico di Milano, Roland DG has adorned Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi with vivid artwork. The clinic receives thousands of young patients annually for various examinations and treatments. Aimed at a diverse audience ranging from toddlers to teenagers, as well as their families and hospital staff, the new graphics aim to create a welcoming and age-appropriate environment for everyone who enters Clinica De Marchi.

The creative concept considered diverse audiences and technical requirements such as brightness and space configuration. With pastel colours and fauna imagery, the makeover aims to offer escapism for young patients. The prints have been applied using self-adhesive films using the TrueVIS AP-640’s resin inks, ensuring expert application and precision.

Individuals spend 80-90% of their time indoors where pollutant levels are often much higher than those found outside, a concern relevant in hospitals. Producing these prints on the TrueVIS AP-640, Roland DG’s first water-based resin-latex printer is ideal for sensitive environments, such as hospitals and its GREENGUARD Gold-certified inks meet strict standards of low chemical emissions.

The Policlinico di Milano expressed its gratitude: "The hospital warmly welcomes this donation, a precious contribution to render some common areas of the Clinica Pediatrica De Marchi more cheerful, as well as child- and family-friendly. Healthcare also begins with the welcome and warmth that an environment can transmit. In recent years, the Policlinico di Milano has been engaged in various projects aimed at the humanisation of care to make the hospital stay more comfortable, especially for young patients. The collaboration with Roland DG is perfectly in line with this journey, where children and their well-being are at the centre of every effort we make, including those aimed at design and aesthetics, as well as health."

The TrueVIS AP-640 printer features highly concentrated colour pigmentation, allowing for heavier saturation than conventional resin inks, and is ideal for various applications including paper, fabric, canvas, wallpaper, and non-PVC materials. Its True Rich Colour preset maximises vibrancy by leveraging the high colour saturation of the new TrueVIS Ink. Redefining resin printing with advanced features for optimised colour reproduction, Roland DG is enhancing paediatric hospitals across Europe this year, brightening spaces and showcasing the transformative power of colour.

Stephen Davis, Marketing Director EMEA at Roland DG, stated: “This year, Roland DG is transforming select hospital environments in key European cities by installing colourful artwork. Our goal is to brighten spaces and demonstrate the transformative power of colour. We are immensely proud to work with Policlinico di Milano as our second flagship project, following our collaboration with Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in the UK.”
