Roland DG launches new 3D Printers transforming ceramic creation with unmatched precision

Bristol, UK, January 29, 2025 – Roland DG, the world's leading provider of digital printing solutions, has today announced the launch of its new PB Series Powder 3D Printers, the PB-600 and PB-400.
Designed to push creative boundaries, these innovative new printers make it possible to produce intricate ceramic objects, from architectural pieces and fine art replicas to crafts and bespoke interior decor, that were previously impossible to achieve by hand or with milling machines.
Revolutionising ceramic production with breakthrough 3D printing
The PB Series employs state-of-the-art binder jet technology, producing 3D objects by ejecting liquid binder from a print head and layering dedicated Brightorb® artificial ceramic powder while fixing it layer by layer to deliver high-definition. In turn, the printers produce durable objects with unparalleled smoothness and precision.
While both printers are matched in quality, the PB-600’s advanced configuration of six industrial print heads ensures outstanding precision and performance, while the PB-400 offers a cost-effective, high-definition option ideal for more compact projects.
The printers use Brightorb artificial ceramic powder consisting of fine particles to ensure less than 1% shrinkage during firing. The PB series layers the material at the optimum thickness to create complex objects with high precision and a beautifully smooth finish.
Both machines allow users to create everything from large-scale ceramic pieces to multiple smaller objects in a single, highly efficient production cycle. Whether producing ornate interior panels, decorative wall features, or cultural replicas, the PB Series streamlines production while delivering results that redefine the limits of ceramic artistry.
“The PB Series is a game-changer for the ceramic industry and creative professionals alike,” said Ryugo Nimura, President of Roland DG’s Global Sales and Marketing Division. “Since 1981, Roland DG has provided tools that inspire innovation and creativity. These new printers simplify the process of creating complex, premium ceramic objects, enabling businesses and designers to produce stunning, high-value pieces with unmatched quality and detail.”
User-friendly design for effortless operation
The PB Series is designed to be intuitive and accessible for a wide range of users, including ceramic manufacturers, industrial designers, and educational institutions. Users can create 3D models using their preferred 3D CAD or 3D CG software and export the data in STL format. Roland DG’s included slicing and printer control software prepares the design for production, while an intuitive built-in monitor makes operating the printer seamless, even for first-time users.
The safety-focused design ensures reliable, worry-free operation with features including sensor-equipped safety covers, emergency stop buttons, and sturdy construction with locking, adjustable base wheels.
