Photo Engravers Factory Fotografía finds reinvention is all in the detail

Spain's Factory Fotografía is a photography business reinvented for the digital era, creating highly personalised, exquisitely detailed products with a Roland METAZA MPX-95 engraving machine.

The photography print market was hit hard between 2006 and 2011, owing to the proliferation of digital cameras and smartphones. People were taking more pictures than ever, but simply not having them developed and printed. Factory Fotografía, located in the Spanish capital Madrid, was founded in 2015 with a new approach to photography in a tough market: personalised gifts. 

Factory Fotografía installed a mini chemistry lab for developing photographs, followed by a plotter for canvas printing and a dye-sublimation printer, perfect for decorating coffee mugs and mobile phone cases with photographic memories. In 2017, the business took a further step with the addition of a Roland METAZA MPX-95 engraving machine.

With the ability to engrave on metals like gold, platinum, silver, titanium, brass, copper and stainless steel, the METAZA MPX-95 helped Factory Fotografía find a new niche in beautifully detailed, personalised products. Customers go to the physical shop in Madrid and online to order a wealth of personalised items like jewellery with engraved photos, pet tags with names etched on, custom plaques for trophies, medals imprinted with pictures and much more.

As well as accurate replicas of photos, the MPX-95 engraver makes it easy to add text, logos and other designs to hard materials, easily and affordably. Promotional goods and custom gifts are exciting potential markets for many users.

Having expanded its product offering, Factory Fotografía is continuing to thrive in the photography market – an area unrecognisable compared to just a few years ago.
